First Graduating Class of Hockey Seniors Honored at Senior Night
Three seniors played their final season game for the Royals on Saturday Night.  Jason Carter, Matt Bernard & Stephen Timm all grew up playing hockey in the Elk River Youth hockey association.  When Rogers High School was formed, they were all instrumental at securing a hockey program for the school in its first year of existence.  Originally, Rogers was not slated to have a Hockey program their first year.  Between meetings with school board officials and petitions of player counts, and their commitment to play, they were able to convince the school that a hockey program was viable in the first year.  Congratulations Seniors for helping start the hockey tradition at Rogers High School.  All three will be attending Winona State University this Fall.

Royals Boys play well in 3-0 loss against Irondale
(Wednesday 2/2/05)
After losing to the Knights 11-1 only 3 days ago, the Royals redeemed themselves with a 3-0 loss Tuesday night.  The Royals shutout the Knights in the first period and gave up two goals in the latter parts of the second period and gave up a goal in the first minute of the third period.  The puck did not bounce the Royals way all night.  The goal early in the third period was a result of wet ice.  In an effort to clear the zone, the puck stopped in front of a Knight Dan Schimanski who then drove it past Royals Goaltender Nick Spahn.  At that point the game was suspended for 5 minutes to let the ice set.  The Royals had multiple opportunities down the stretch but could not get the puck past the Irondale net-minder.

In other action JV loss 4-2 after being up 2-1 early in the third.  The Royals skated the 3rd period with only 8 players and they just ran out of gas.  Lien scored the 2 goals for the Royals with assist going to JT Bernens and Tommy Tatro.

Monday night the Royals Varsity loss 8-0 against Spring Lake Park.  JV lost a wild one with a 7-5 defeat.  In the game Tommy Tatro recorded a Hat Trick and Mike Lien and Paul Waddick added a goal a piece.
