Royals Face-Off Booster Club
BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I – PURPOSE
It is the purpose
of this organization to provide support to those students participating in the
Rogers High School Hockey Program. This organization will be responsible for
raising funds through various fund raising activities and donations.
ARTICLE II – MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. Who may
join
Any
interested parent, alumnus, faculty member or friend of Rogers High School shall
be eligible to join the organization.
Section 2. Dues
There are two
levels of participation. The first is the Players Fee Membership. The dues
shall be $200 per year for player fee membership. All families with players are
required to participate at this level. The player’s membership fee assists in
payments to covers expenses such as hotel rooms, transportation, end of year
banquet and other miscellaneous expenses that support our hockey program.
The second level of
participation is the Blue Liner Membership. The dues shall be $50 per year.
This membership is for friends of hockey who want to contribute and be an active
booster club membership.
Section 3. Membership
year
The general
membership year shall run from September 1st through August 31st
of the following year.
Section 4. Meetings
The Board of
Directors shall be responsible for scheduling and holding meetings. The Board
of Directors will publish the exact date, time and place of meetings at least 24
hours prior to the meeting. At the minimum, there shall be an annual meeting
held to elect officers to the board positions.
ARTICLE III – RESTRICTIONS
Section 1.
Interference in school athletic system
Membership in
the Club shall not entitle any member to interfere in any way with the planning,
policy, participation or coaching of any organized athletic activity within the
Rogers High School Athletic system
Section 2.
Coordination with the Athletic Director
All major
activities planned by the organization shall be coordinated with the Athletic
Director so as not to interfere with any athletic program or planned school
event
Section 3.
Representation of the Organization
Only the
president or a duly appointed representative shall have the authority to speak
or act for the organization on official matters
ARTICLE IV – BOARD OF
DIRECTORS
Section I. General
Statement
Their shall
be a Board of Directors, Committees and General membership
Section II. Officers
Officers of
the Organization shall consist of a President, Vice President, Secretary and
Treasurer. All officers are voting members of the organizations Board of
Directors.
Section III Board of
Directors
The Board of
Directors shall consist a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, Boys
Director, and Girls Director plus the appropriate chairpersons of standing
committees (ie. Committees that conduct the on-going business of the club).
This includes the Boys and Girls Fund-Raising Directors
Section IV - Duty of
Officers
1.
The President shall preside at all annual membership
meetings. The President shall assume responsibility for supervising the
business of the Organization and delegating such duties as may be necessary to
execute the responsibilities of the organization. In addition, he/she will
ratify committee chairpersons appointed by the Officers and assume
responsibility for all actions of the Organization
2.
The Vice President shall preside in the absence of the
President and at such times perform the duties of office. Additionally, the
Vice President assumes additional responsibility delegated to him/her by the
Officers.
3.
The Secretary shall keep accurate records of all
proceedings of the Organization including keeping minutes at the Board
Meetings. Additionally, the Secretary is responsible for maintaining the
By-Laws of the organization.
4.
The Treasurer shall be in charge of all funds, and
shall pay all bills as approved by the Board of Directors. The Treasurer shall
be responsible in giving a report of the receipts and expenditures at each
Director’s meeting and shall submit a written report at the annual membership
meeting.
5.
Boys and Girls Directors will be in charge of
addressing the needs of their respective team. This would include requesting
funds to meet team needs.
6.
Boys and Girls Fund Raising Directors will be in
charge for all fund raising.
Section V - Power and
Duties of the Directors
The Directors
of the Organization scope of responsibility includes all duties assigned by the
Officers of the Organization and include, but are not limited to the following.
1.
Provide successful and profitable fund raising
programs
2.
Provide spirit-wear items for team players and fans
3.
Provide funds for the End-of-Year banquet used for
trophies, plaques, food & facilities
4.
Provide support for Out of town games (Hotels/Buses)
5.
Assist in payment of coaches not under salary with the
High School
6.
Provide funds for equipment, training materials, etc.
Section VI - Terms of
Officers and Directors
All terms
will be two years in length. The following positions will be up for re-election
on odd years President, Secretary, Girls Director. On Even years the
following positions will be up for re-election – Vice President, Treasurer, Boys
Director, Girls Fund Raising Director.
Section VII
Nominations
At the annual
meeting, or other designated date by the Board, a slate of nominees for the open
positions will be present. The election shall be by majority vote of the
members present. The candidates may also include open nominations from the
floor.
Section VIII Removal
of the Board of Directors and Others
Any Director
or member appointed or engaged may be removed with proper notice after a hearing
of the Board, by a majority vote
Section IX Vacancies
Should a
vacancy exist on the Board, the Board of Directors shall appoint a replacement
for the remainder of the term
ARTICLE V BY-LAWS
These By-Laws may be
amended, altered, changed, added to or repealed by the affirmative vote of a
majority of the Board of Directors. The By-Lays shall be reviewed annually
